Kwesta And Wale Makes Telkom To Breath Through The WOUND

Kwesta and Big Wale sue Telkom
American award-winning musician Wale and South African hip-hop star Kwesta went to court last week to sue Telkom. According to the two Telkom owes them royalties worth R1.5 million which they are refusing to pay for using their song Spirit on several of their commercial adverts and prepaid products. Along with the telecommunication giant, two other companies which are Wunderman Thompson and Wunderman marketing are named in the lawsuit and have also been taken to court. Telkom however disputed their claim and said they only used R895 000 for radio adverts, television and YouTube for 20 months and R702 000 for a behind the scenes short film. The two artists are now pleading with the Johannesburg court to grant them judgement against the 3 companies.
When contacted for a comment, Moeketsi Mocumi who is the Telkom Spokesperson said he could not release any details as the matter was before the court however he did confirm that Telkom is aware of the pending litigation.
