Mihlali Ndamase’s botched tattoo
Youtuber and makeup blogger Mihlali Ndamase was taking heavy fire on twitter for getting a new tattoo whilst the country is still on lockdown. The tattoo was done on the 15th of June thus she broke lockdown rules.
Mihlali’s tattoo artist posted a picture of a tattoo of a tiger he did on her calf. Tweeps were not happy and called her pout for breaking lock down regulations. The tattoo is of a tiger prowling which at first glance looked really good. At least to me. But tweeps scrutinised the tattoo and said the eyes were different, with one looking Asian and the other Chinese, they also said the paws of the tiger were drawn poorly. Some tweep even compared her tattoo with that of another person’s who also got a tiger and called it C grade. Tweeps went as far as tagging the police on the post.
Mihlali who has faced criticism after criticism for many things on social media seemed to not give the haters the time of day and instead responded with a tweet that read, “Ngas’ke bathule ke osisi beStars and infinity signs.” She also commented on an article written by IOL News about her breaking lockdown regulations with a video of a man sarcastically saying sorry.
Other tweeps came to her defence calling the people against her hypocrites as they too had their nails and hair done during lockdown plus calling attention to other celebrities who had videos partying breaking the lockdown rules but were not held accountable. These celebrities include Amanda Du-pond, MamMkhize and Barbilious who had parties and prayer meetings were social distancing, wearing of masks were not enforced. One of the first was the Minister of Communications Stella Ndabeni –Abrahams who was put on paid leave after she broke the lockdown regulations. So Mihlali is definitely not the first popular individual to break these rules.
What did you think of the tattoo Tea Squad? Was it that badly done or are people just hating because it is on Mihlali.
