Actress Simphiwe Ngema spills the beans on how acting on Isidingo was. And unfortunately for you who like scandals twas all good. Isidingo aired it last episode in March this year due to poor audience ratings and decline in revenue after entertaining the nation for 21years.
Simphiwe who acted as Phindile on Isidingo was interviewed by Molife Kumona, an online editor of Glamour on Instagram live. In the interview she said Isidingo was very professional to work on and she would miss the show. In her own words, “Everything on Isidingo was very professional and on time, we had enough time to prepare ourselves.” She compared it to other productions she had worked on where she would get confirmation of her call sheet a day before, something that never happened to her on Isidingo.
She went on to speak about the general feel of the set, “Also, the whole team was very supportive to one another, they made everything easy, “she said. She gave an example of an incident where she and another co-star had an event on the same day and the team showed so much support not only to her but to the other co-star as well which she wasn’t expecting. They both got equal support which was really amazing.
They also talked about her style when Molife complimented it and the actress said, “I shop anywhere and my style is really a mixture of everything, it always different from my day to day looks to my red carpet looks and so forth.” When asked what keeps her strong, the actress said her family and her passion keep her going on. And that her father’s advice to always remember who she was before everything keeps her ground.
In conclusion the actress said she would like to do more acting and singing that would penetrate Africa, collaborate with other African artists in her music and take Africa to the world. Her goal is not to be a Hollywood star. The star is also working on a new song with Kabomo, something their fans should anticipate after the lockdown and Corona virus pandemic.
